Parish Nurses

Christ United Methodist Church has six commissioned Parish Nurses. All are registered nurses with experience in multiple areas of health care. The role of the Parish Nurse can be described as one who promotes wholistic health care (mind, body, and spirit) for individuals, families, groups, the congregation as a whole, and some aspects of the community; utilizes quality communication skills with clients, collaborates with pastors, church staff, and community health resources; promotes an assertive approach to wellness. Some of the roles of the Parish Nurse are educator and promoter of health, personal health counselor, health advocate, liaison with community health resources, and promoter of spiritual well being.
