Nursery

Our nursery provides care for children newborn through two years of age on Sunday mornings for each hour of worship. We offer a welcoming, nurturing, and safe place for your child. We want your child to feel welcome and loved while learning of God's grace.

Our Nursery Staff
On Sunday mornings, both paid staff workers and volunteers care for our youngest angels. Each worker has completed a background check and received necessary training. While you are attending worship and/or Sunday School, the Nursery staff and volunteers will be sharing God's love with your child through pictures, stories, songs, and playful interaction. If you feel a calling to this ministry, please contact the Director of the Nursery Ministry or the Director of the Children's Ministry.

Signing In at the Nursery
We are blessed with many young children! Our nursery is located in the north building. The north hallway leads to our classrooms. A sign by each door indicates the age group for that room. There is an attendance roster at each door as well as a yellow visitor sheet. Please note any special instructions for your child at this time. If you want your child's name to be added to the attendance roster, please complete a blue registration form.

After you sign in, you will be given a vibrating pager or a card with a security number (this option is used for those attending the worship service only). If you have a card and a problem arises, the number will flash on the parent notification screens located in the sanctuary and in the gymnasium.

The Nursery staff is encouraged to page parents only when necessary. If you are paged, please come to your child's room as quickly as possible.

Snacks and Supplies
Please bring all necessary items with you. Make sure all belongings, including the bag, are labeled. Parents are responsible for supplying bottles, milk, formula, juice cups, finger foods, pacifiers and loveys. If you use cloth diapers, include a sealable plastic bag for soiled diapers. Please note any concerns about allergies to certain snacks on the sign-in sheet.

Illness
The welfare of the children under our care is our first priority. If your child becomes ill, you will be notified immediately. Please refrain from bringing your child if he/she has had any of the following symptoms within the past 24 hours: diarrhea, vomiting, fever, rash, or virus.

Children who have seen a physician and/or taken antibiotics for 48 hours will be admitted at the discretion of the Nursery staff. Please understand that any decision regarding an ill child is made to provide a healthy and comfortable atmosphere for all children, volunteers, and staff members.

Infant Baptism
Baptism is the sacrament of initiation and incorporation into the church family and is ordained by Christ. In baptism, water is sprinkled in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and is concluded with the laying on of hands. This meaningful experience is meant to be shared and we welcome you to invite family and friends to witness your child's baptism. Baptism is offered during our worship services, so please contact the church office to schedule your child's baptism.

Cradle Roll
Twice a year, the Children's and Women's Ministry co-sponsor a luncheon for new or expecting parents. Parents will have the opportunity to learn about infant baptism, to tour the nursery, to meet the staff, and to be partnered with "mentor" parents. Please contact the Nursery Director for more information.

Concerns
Our goal is to provide your child with a loving and safe Christian atmosphere. From time to time, concerns do arise. Please inform us of any problems so they may be addressed immediately. If the staff can assist you or your child, please let us know by contacting the Director of the Nursery Ministry.
