Honduras Mission Trip
This project is in support of Send Hope, a 501(c)(3) public charity set up by Dr. Tom Brian, a local dentist from Allen, Texas. He has made numerous trips doing dental treatment in Latin American countries, but has decided to concentrate on the east coast of Honduras. He and previous teams have constructed a building to house partially disabled students and malnourished babies and their families. They call the building the "House of Hope". Dr. Brian also brings back many disabled children to the Scottish Rite Hospital here in the DFW area for life-saving operations and plastic surgery. Dr. Brian is a member of First United Methodist Church in Allen. Volunteers help with construction and maintenance repairs, caring for children by helping with their homework, taking young children to school and playing with them, and help feed and care for malnourished babies.
