What Christ Church Will Do in 2007

· WE WILL BUILD A NEW SANCTUARY. On Monday night there was a vote to expand our current campus. This will require the commitment, input, and creativity of every member of Christ Church. I hope that each of you will take advantage of numerous opportunities in the coming year to be a part of this process, and to learn how this expansion will bring more people to Christ as well as expand our remarkable mission and outreach programs.

· WE WILL REACH OUT TO NEW COMMUNITIES AND DEMOGRAPHICS. People are still moving into our parish area, and there will be tremendous growth up what I call the “Coit Road corridor.” Additionally, we will be making special efforts to reach older adults, families with special needs, and other target populations. Christ Church is right in the middle of a very exciting mission field!

· WE WILL LEAD THE NORTH TEXAS CONFERENCE IN THE EFFORT TO SAVE CHILDREN FROM THE DISEASES OF POVERTY. I have written and spoken about this before and so you know of my passion about this critical issue. I know that you will pray about this vision for the children of the world and the opportunity to make Jesus Christ a healing presence in a broken and hurting world.

· WE WILL IMPLEMENT A NEW COMMUNICATIONS PLAN THAT WILL KEEP YOU BETTER INFORMED IN A MORE TIMELY WAY. Brian Jones, our Director of Communications, has developed a very robust communications plan for the new year. This plan, combined with new software upgrades to our information systems, will bring you the information that is most important to you, with much of it landing on your desktop.

As we begin the New Year, I am as excited as I have ever been about our church and the future that God is calling us to. Loving God and Serving Our Neighbors is absolutely the most important vocation in the world, and it is a vocation that has been given to every single one of us. Thanks for being a part of the Christ Church journey!
