Counseling
Professional counselors are available to our congregation and greater community. This ministry is offered for those people who want the assistance of professional guidance when they decide to make needed changes in their lives. Professional counseling can be obtained for children, youth, single adults, married couples and families. Fees for these services are set on a sliding scale, which makes them available to those who are interested.

Counselors

Rev. Walter Purkey, D.Min., is an ordained United Methodist Minister, a Fellow of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He offers individual counseling, marriage and family counseling, pastoral counseling, and spiritual guidance.

Mary Ewing Rixford, M.A., is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She offers individual counseling, marriage and family counseling, and pastoral counseling.

Susan Henderson, M.ED., is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor. She offers play therapy for children and family counseling.
