Loving God, Serving Others ... Transforming Lives

Our Worship Services

Worship is the heart of Christ United Methodist Church. We worship and glorify God with two styles of worship each week.

Sanctuary Worship (Traditional/Blended)

8:45, 9:45, and 11:00 a.m. each Sunday morning in the sanctuary. Rev. Don Underwood is the main preacher for these services.

Music for the services is usually provided by the Living Proof Youth Choir at 8:45 a.m. and the Sanctuary Choir at 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. Children’s Choir sings frequently throughout the year at various services. Musical offerings vary each week from traditional hymns and sacred classical selections to gospel and contemporary songs. On selected Sundays this service is led by a full orchestra, jazz ensemble, handbells and/or various other groups of instrumentalists, as well as piano and organ.

The Traditional/Blended Worship focuses on Christ-centered music, fellowship and friendship. But most importantly, this service shares the gospel of Christ through music in worship and special musical events. It is our hope that everyone who participates in the music ministries program is challenged to grow in Christ and to experience God's unconditional love through the love of music that we all share.

Whether you are a professional musician or just a music lover, we have a place for you! Please take a moment to review the many programs we have to offer and prayerfully consider what God would have you do with the musical gift He has given you.

For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. And since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let each exercise them accordingly… Romans 12: 4-6

Full Court Worship (Contemporary)

11:00 a.m. each Sunday morning in the Christian Life Center. Rev. Abe Smith is the main preacher for this service.

"Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing. Know that the Lord is God. It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name. For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures for ever, and his faithfulness to all generations." Psalm 100

Psalm 100 is the driving force for Full Court Worship, CUMC's contemporary worship service. We make a joyful noise to the Lord, offering our full self to God as we enter his courts with praise...hence the name Full Court.  In a relaxed atmosphere, Full Court integrates engaging Bible-based messages and vibrant music for a life-changing worship experience. Join us for this dynamic and creative service as we grow together and discover God’s purpose for our life.

Communion and Baptism

Holy Communion is the highest sacrament of the United Methodist Church. This sacrament is often called by other names, including the Lord's Supper, the Last Supper and Eucharist. The United Methodist Church recognizes only baptism and Holy Communion as sacraments because they were the only acts ordained by Christ. In Holy Communion, we remember and proclaim God's saving work through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are reminded again of the gifts of God's grace and forgiveness given to each of us. In communion, we celebrate what God is doing among us and in us.

Communion is served in the Sanctuary on the first Sunday of every month. Gluten-free communion is available. Please don't forget that in the United Methodist Church, Holy Communion is open to everyone. You do not have to be a member to participate.

Baptisms for children and adults are scheduled through the church office. The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated at 9:45 and/or 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary and during the 11:00 a.m. Full Court service as scheduled.
