Parking Lot Happenings

Why are the red and green stripes in the parking lot?

Helping Hands parking are spots hatched in red and are designed to offer parking in close proximity to an entrance for those who have mobility challenges. For instance, if you use a walker or are a family of multiple babies, and need a helping hand from our friendly hospitality ambassadors, these spots are for you!

The spots marked in green are for Fuel Efficient Vehicles. You don't have to drive a hybrid to qualify. Click here to see if you are one of the over 600 cars eligible for these spots. FEV parking is part of our sustainability efforts and education at CUMC.

Parking Lot Hosts

Do you like to use walkie talkies?  Always been eager to wear an orange vest?  Then you are perfect for our hospitality parking lot hosts.  Sessions are only in peak seasons at peak parking times to aid in traffic flow so drivers avoid congestion and frustration.  Training is available on site, and this committment only takes 20 minutes of your time for twice a month.  This fall's session runs from August 22nd-September 26th.  Please email Rev. Alexandra Robinson for more information at alexandra@cumc.com

Super Shuttle Rides Again

“Riding the shuttle was a great chance to visit with CUMC members that you don’t know or rarely get to see.” ~ Kathy Meadows

Meet some new folks this fall at CUMC. The shuttle continues it's Sunday morning service beginning at 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. You can ride from the post office and be dropped of at the closest entrance to the new sanctuary. We encourage you to park and ride in the next few weeks as we make room for the many visitors we hope to welcome! Our convenient shuttle service picks up at the post office 1 block north of Parker Road on the east side of Coit Road.
Take a look at how we have improved shuttle service:
  • Donut holes
  • Special treats for the kids
  • Less than 3 minute wait time
  • Convenient door-to-door service from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Parking Challenges?

Your friendly parking lot hosts can help. Starting August 22, our parking lot hosts are available to help you navigate through the parking lot and offer a friendly welcome to newcomers. Look for these improvements in our parking system:

  • Parking lot hosts available in the north lot assisting with traffic flow
  • Shuttle bus starts a new route with door-to-door drop off in the north lot
  • Hospitality ambassadors available to greet in the north lot
  • Additional deputies on Coit Road

To assist with parking challenges, we are suggesting various parking areas throughout the lot, based on individual needs. You can take a look at these options by clicking here, to decide if this would be helpful for you on Sunday mornings.
